Types of Offshore Lines

Navigating the world of offshore betting lines can be overwhelming, especially for newcomers. If you’re new to betting, here’s a quick overview of the wagering options you can find at BetAnySports:

img-2way

2-Way Money Line

In a 2-way money line bet, you're wagering on which side will win the game. However, if the game ends in a tie, your wager will be refunded. This betting market is ideal for those who want to avoid the risk of a tie.

img-3way

3-Way Money Line

The 3-way money line is similar to the 2-way, but with one key difference: there's a draw option. If you bet on either the home or visitor side and the game ends in a tie, your wager will be graded as a loss. The draw option provides an additional betting opportunity but also carries a higher risk, as a result odds on selecting either the Home or Visitor are both increased.

img-spreads

Spreads

Spreads involve betting on the points added or subtracted from your selected side. If there are zero points, you'll see a "PK" displayed. The side with the higher score after the points are applied is the winner.

img-totals

Totals

Totals, also known as Over/Unders, involve betting on the total points scored in a game. This betting market focuses on the combined score of both teams, providing a different perspective on the game's outcome.

img-asian

Asian Spreads & Totals

Asian handicaps operate similarly to traditional handicaps, but with a twist: there's always a guarantee of the bets winning or losing at least a portion of your wager, avoiding a push. For each game, you'll see two handicaps listed. For example, if you choose a spread of +1.25, half of your wager will go to +1 and half will go to +1.5. This unique betting format offers a way to minimize the risk of a tie outcome.

img-props

Props

Prop bets, short for "proposition" bets, are wagers on specific events within a sporting event. They can focus on a specific player statistic, team statistic or outcome.

img-futures

Futures (Outright Winner)

In an outright winner or odds-to-win bet, you're wagering on who will be the tournament champion. This long-term betting market requires you to predict the eventual winner of a tournament or league.

Types of Wagers Available With Our Offshore Lines

Find different types of wagers and potential payoffs in our sportsbook. Let's break down some popular options available.

img-straight

Straight

A straight bet is a single wager on a specific event. Whether it's a moneyline, point spread, Over/Under or any other type of betting line, if you predict the outcome of that single event correctly, you’re wager will be a winner.

img-parleys

Parlays

Parlays combine multiple straight wagers into one bet, offering increased payouts based on the number of selections, also called legs. All picks in the parlay must win for it to pay out. If there's a push or cancelation in one or more picks, the parlay reduces to the next lower number of teams.

Same-game parlays are available for almost all sports. In football, you can combine side and total bets within the same game when the ratio between the spread and the total is greater than 4 to 1. For basketball, this ratio increases to 12 to 1 for the full game, 15 to 1 for halves, and 18 to 1 for quarters. Selected options in baseball and hockey allow parlaying money lines to totals. However, parlays combining spreads to totals are not permitted in baseball, hockey, soccer and most other sports.

img-teasers

Teasers

Teasers allow you to combine multiple straight bets into one wager. However, unlike parlays, the betting line for each individual pick is moved in your favor by a predetermined number of points, giving you an advantage.

When placing a teaser, you have the flexibility to either fill all spots on your teaser or leave up to 14 spots open. There is no expiration time frame for these open spots, as long as there are no losing selections. However, it's important to note that management reserves the right to remove open spots from plays and/or to disable the open wagers feature from an account at any time.

For the teaser to be a winner, all the individual parts of the teaser must win. However, to offer you a better experience, you will find three different types of teaser options.

Ties Reduce Teasers

If there is a push in one or more of your teaser's picks, the wager reverts down to the next lower number of teams. If a two-team teaser has a push and a winner, the teaser is considered "no-action" (refunded).

However, it's important to note that NFL is not available for:

  • Ties Reduce 5nfl 5½fb & 4½bk
  • Ties Reduce 5½nfl 6fb & 4½bk.
Ties Win Teasers

In this option, all ties are treated as winning selections. If one or more of the selections are tiedties, those selections count as winning picks. Even if all the selections are ties, all those ties are considered winners in "Ties Win Teasers". It's important to note that a game not played or completed on the original scheduled date is not deemed as a tie. If a game is postponed or canceled, the teaser would step down to the next lower number of teams. NFL is not available for:

  • Ties Win 5nfl 5½fb & 4½bk
  • Ties Win 5½nfl 6fb & 4½bk.

In this option, any tie is treated as a losing selection. A game not played or completed on the originally scheduled date is not deemed as a "tie". If a game is postponed or canceled, the teaser would step down to the next lower number of teams.

In instances where a teaser is reduced to a one-team teaser due to games being postponed or completely canceled, the player will be permitted to choose replacements for the canceled selections. If there are two or more selections of the teaser that were not canceled, then no alterations to the teaser will be permitted. Any losing pick renders the teaser a loser.

If a two-team teaser has a tie and a loser, the teaser loses.BetAnySports reserves the right to change teaser payouts on an individual account at any time without prior notice. However, pending teasers will always be honored with the rules stated at the time the wagers were made.

img-ifbets

If Bets

LAn If-Bet is a type of wager where the outcome of one event determines whether a subsequent bet is activated. You place a fixed amount on an initial bet, and if that bet wins, the next bet in the sequence becomes active. If the first bet loses, the following bet is voided, and no further action occurs.

If Win Only

In an If Win Only bet, the next wager in the sequence only becomes active if the initial selection wins. If the first wager loses or pushes, no further action takes place. Each time a selection wins, the following wager is activated.

For example, let's say you place a $100 If win only bet on Team A. If Team A wins, your $100 bet on Team B will be activated. However, if Team A loses or pushes, your bet on Team B will be voided, and you will not risk any more money.

If Win or Push

In an If win or push bet, wagers carry over to the next bet if the player wins or pushes the initial selection. If the first wager loses, there is no subsequent action. As each selection wins or pushes, there will be action on the following wager.

There may be up to 15 selections in one If-Bet. Correlation restrictions for If-Bets are the same as they are for parlays.

img-action

Action Reverse Bet

An action reverse bet, also known as a reverse, is a series of If Bets that go in both directions of the established order. All reverse bets are double action, meaning each sequence activates whether the previous bet results in a win, push or lose.

img-roundrobins

Round Robins

A round robin bet is a variation of a parlay with three or more games. It's an easy way to place multiple parlays at once by boxing all single picks into every possible parlay combination.

For example, a "Round Robin with 2's, 3's" would include all the possible two-team combinations as well as a three-team parlay that can be made with your current selections. In total, you will have 4 parlays:

  • Parlay 1 Team A + Team B
  • Parlay 2 Team A + Team C
  • Parlay 3 Team B + Team C
  • Parlay 4 Team A + Team B + Team C
img-pleaser

Pleaser

A pleaser bet is the opposite of a teaser bet. In a pleaser bet, the betting line is moved against you, rather than in your favor. This means that the odds will favor the sportsbook but will result in a higher potential payout.

For example, let's say the point spread for a game is:

Team A is -7 points & Team B is +7 points.

In a six-point teaser bet, you could move the point spread to Team A -1 and Team B +13, giving you a better chance of winning.

However, in a six-point pleaser bet, the point spread would be moved to Team A -13 and Team B +1. This is harder to win but you get a better payout if you win.

To win a pleaser bet, each team must cover their modified point spread. If any other outcome occurs the pleaser bet is graded as a loss. This is the same as in teaser bets, where each team must cover their modified point spread for the teaser to win.

Only one side or total may be selected on a game. Pleaser selections with a “side to a side”, “side to a total”, or “total to a total” within the same game are not permitted.

Pleasers are available for Football and Basketball.

  • For half time wagers, overtime periods are included as part of the second half.
  • All period and quarter wagers placed are for that specific period or quarter only.

3. Pushes on parlays and teasers

PARLAYS

When you place a parlay and one (or more) of the selections in your parlay is a push / no action, the parlay drops down to the next possible number of teams. For example, if you have a 4-team parlay with three winning selections and one push, it becomes a 3-teamer, with the payout adjusted accordingly. If this happens on a 2-team parlay (one winner and one push), it becomes a single straight bet.

TEASERS

Teasers function similar to parlays (i.e., a 3-team teaser with one push and two winning selections drops down to a 2-team teaser). However, a teaser cannot be reduced to a straight bet, which means:

  • any 2-team teaser with a win and a push will result in the entire bet being a Push (no action).
  • any teaser with a loss and a push will result in a loss.

Also, Special Teasers (10 points for football / 8 points for basketball) do not allow the number of teams to be reduced at all, so on those, any push + win will result in the entire bet pushing.

4. Parlay restrictions

  • It is not possible to parlay the spread with the moneyline on the same team, in the same game/match.
  • Parlays where the outcome of one selection closely contributes to the outcome of another selection ("correlated plays") are not allowed.
  • For example, in a football game with a big favorite spread (-14 pts) and a low total (45 pts) it would typically not be possible to parlay the favorite spread with the over on this type of game. Conversely a parlay with the underdog +14 and under the total would also not be permitted. In either case the combination is considered correlated.
  • Similar rules apply to baseball and hockey:
  • Run Lines cannot be parlayed with totals in the same baseball game.
  • Puck Lines cannot be parlayed with totals in the same hockey game.
  • All decisions on parlay restrictions are made by BetAnySports management and are final.

5. Futures

  • Future bets are considered "All-In" and will have action regardless of injuries or other unforeseen events that affect the outcome of the wager.
  • In certain situations, an event that was previously scheduled may be shortened or altered in a way that prevents the normal completion of the event (such as weather shortened games or early stoppages due to injury). If such a situation occurs and the event is considered official by the sanctioning body, BetAnySports reserves the right to settle all futures on the originally declared outcome, regardless of how the event was altered.
